PAPERLESS OFFICE ? or PAPER DISK

ZDNet posted a story today about the new DVD format Blu-Ray which is being developed by Sony. It features a disk made of Paper. Had this appeared on April 1st I would have understood it more than what I can right now. Paper ! Paper ? How can you use something electronic to etch bits of information into paper.
