US rejects stingy tag, and praises Australia
The United States has rejected claims it had been stingy in its response to the disaster amid criticism that it was giving less than the country spends in a single hour in Iraq.
As the US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, answered the critics, the Bush Administration announced it would more than double its aid package to $US35million ($45million) and indicated more was on the way.
