Exabyte the new Megabyte

This excellent story chronicles the history of the megabyte from it's hugely expensive early days through to the future which may involve recording to disk of all telephone conversations.

I can remember an HP product called the "megabyte express" which launched in the mid 1980's. It was the size of a freezer cabinet cost $US 38,000 and held a massive 400mb. Nowdays of course, you can't even find 400mb drives in museums.
