The Australian: Sydney shocks the Saints [September 17, 2005]

After a year of criticism the Sydney Swans have made it to the Australian Football Leage (AFL) Grand Final to be held next Saturday 24th September.

This is the teams first Grand Final appearance since 1996 and if won will be thier first pennant since 1933.

There are shadows over half-forward and Captain Barry Hall, who may be cited to appear before the AFL judiciary on Monday night after an alleged strike on a St Kilda player. The player appeared to milk the penalty (to no avail) but the TV hosts and coverage milked it even more. 

It’’s time for Huddo (Channel 10 commentator) to shut up and realise there is football outside of Victoria.
