Mayor in hot seat wins promises from Iemma

Mayor in hot seat wins promises from Iemma

The independent candidate for Pittwater, its mayor, Alex McTaggart, has had an hour-long meeting with the Premier, Morris Iemma, winning a series of promises as Labor worked to embarrass the NSW Liberal leader, Peter Debnam, at Saturday's byelection.

This is absolutely disgusting behaviour by Iemma. Whilst the rest of the state’’s infastructure, finances and secret deals with private companies cast enormous disruption across the state, and whilst the premier hasn’’t got the time to meet with people who can advise him on how to fix these problems, he suddenly finds time to meet with a little known minnow from local government, just for his own political gains.

Farewell Iemma in March 2007.
