Oldest U.S. WWI Vet Dies at 109, Only 2 Survivors Remain

The two remaining U.S. veterans are Frank Buckles, 106, of Charles Town, W.Va.; and Harry Richard Landis, 108, of Sun City Center, Fla., according to the Veterans Affairs Department. In addition, John Babcock, 107, of Spokane, Wash., served in the Canadian army and is the last known Canadian veteran of the war.

Yet more rain for Sydney

It's looking very much like a wet Christmas now with more rain falling in the Sydney region this afternoon. A very loud thunderstorm passed through the Northern beaches district about 5pm AEST resulting in a few overflowing gutters.

Hunter Valley Flash Flood

Recent storms in the Hunter valley have produced spectacular but sometimes frightening weather phenomena. Kellicks Creek was a prime example of why you should avoid low level water or causeway crossings during and after thunderstorms or heavy rainfall. This video was captured showing the full force of a flash flood which arrived in seconds out of nowhere.
