Will Jackson Crash the Internet

Will the memorial service for Michael Jackson crash the internet.

Whilst many broadcasters from around the world will screen the tribute and memorial service for Michael Jackson live on TV, many people in the US will be at work and will probably watch online.

Services such as Hulu.com have already stated they'll stream it live and with millions of viewers expected it's hoped that the entire Internet does not suffer a choke on bandwidth and crash.

In six hours we'll know I guess.

Acer Notebook PC - Aspire 3683WXMi

I bought a new notebook PC yesterday and it's fabulous.

For $950 I got exactly what I was looking for. Several months ago this same class of machine would have cost me three large or more !

I am posting this now via a wireless link to my main machine in the compueter and media centre at home, whilst watching TV in a recliner chair. This is a dream and a classic case of not knowing really if you needed the machine until you actually got it.

I definately needed this !!

Scan 3D Objects via a USB Webcam for Free

If you have ever wanted to scan 3D models of real objects into your computer but didn’t want to cough up thousands of bucks for the software you can now do it for free. That is assuming you have a laser of some sort that projects a straight line onto the subject and a USB webcam. The software is called DAVID and to use it you place the object you want to scan into a corner with 90 degree angles. The software will puzzle the images together to give you a complete 360 degree view of the subject. However, the site states the portion of the software that puzzles the images together is not currently available. At least you can scan one side of the object into your PC.

First Post on the New Blogger

This is my first post on the new Blogger. I was somewhat disappointed with the fact that the template is not drag and drop as promised. Apparently this is only available to new blogs you create on the new site not to old blogs converted over from the old site. This sucks !

Update 12/12/06
Digg says it's Bloggers problem and they won't be updating this feature until blogger comes out of beta ... like never.

Blogger says it's Diggs problem ... see here

In the meantime ... bugger the web .... nobody fricken cares !
